It was March 9th, 2022, my family and I were getting ready for an awesome trip! After getting ready and eating breakfast, I got my bag and put it in the trunk of the car. Then I put my shoes and coat on. There were lots of other bags to carry so I helped my dad carry some more of them. Soon me, my sister Tanya, my mom, and dad jumped into the car and started off for Quebec City. For a few hours I was doing some puzzles and playing some games but the only time we stopped the car was when we needed gas. After a while we reached a town called Edmundston. It was right next to the US border! We are going to stay at a hotel here because it is a very very long drive. Inside, they have a few trolleys to put your luggage in. When we got to our hotel room I took of my shoes off and turned on the TV. Soon I thought we should go check out the pool so I asked my dad if we could go. He said yes so me, my sister, and my dad got ready to go. Not my mom because she didn’t want to get her hair wet but she still came with us, just to sit and watch. When we reached the pool, me and my dad jumped in. My sister did not want to go in because she thought the water was cold. Me and my dad practiced some swimming for a while but then we had to go back because it was time for dinner, so we all went back up. Then after we changed, we all got in the car and drove to DQ and got some food to eat. After we ate, we went back to the hotel and then went to bed.
The Next day…
“Yawn… good morning, everyone!” we are finally going to enter Quebec City! We all are very excited. We all got ready in a hurry. After breakfast, we carried all the bags downstairs and checked out of the hotel. Once we got out of the town, and on to the highway, I got back to working on my puzzle book. After about an hour we reached Quebec City, but we did not go to the hotel yet, first we went to a waterfall called Montmorency falls. They had a cable cart stand and a lookout tower there. We all got tickets for the cable carts, so we all got in the cart and a guy pushed a button then the cart started moving. We saw the almost frozen fall…the view was amazing. We also walked around and went on to the bridge hanging above the fall.
After spending some time there, we got back into the car. It was time for lunch, so we stopped to get some food. Me and my dad went in and got some pizza. After 20 minutes we reached the hotel: Fairmont Château Frontenac. It is the most photographed hotel in the world. It looked like a castle!
Anyway, when we got in, we put our bags down. Then we spotted the same kind of trolley for the luggage, just like last time, so we put our bags on one of them and then went into our room. We had a few things that we could do including the scavenger hunt they gave us or going and checking out the pool area. I thought we should see the toboggan ride, so we all went out towards the hill.
In about a minute, we got to the top and got all strapped up… then off we went! sliding like crazy but then it suddenly stopped. “Awesome!” I said, “now let’s get some hot chocolate!”. So, all of us went to the café and got 2 or 3 cups of hot chocolates and a croissant (for my sister). I saw a kid from my school named Zane there. Soon we ate and went back to the hotel and checked out the game room. There were lots of cool games like foosball and table tennis. In about thirty minutes we all went back to our room. I thought we should see the pool, so we all got changed (even my mom this time) then we went to the pool. Wow! They have three pools here! A hot tub, a 4ft deep pool for kids, and even a small and shallow pool for babies. My mom and my sister went in the baby pool and me and my dad went in the kid’s pool to practice swimming. I tried teaching my dad how to float on his back. He did better than usual this time. After a while it was time for bed, so we all went back up and my dad went to the main floor to get some dinner from the restaurants. After we ate dinner, we all went to bed.
THE 3rd DAY…
“Wake up,” said mom. “Today we are going to have a tour of old Quebec City!” We all got ready and ordered some breakfast from the royal hotel service. When it was delivered, we ate it up. Soon my mom persuaded me we should do the scavenger hunt so me and my mom went to the front desk because a staff member told us earlier the first clue was there. The first letter of the message was C, and the clue was: The place where you fill your tummies. I thought it meant the restaurant, it was downstairs so that is where we went. A lot of other clues were downstairs too, so we kept looking there. The basement looked like a museum! It was filled with amazing history about the hotel. The last clue was upstairs so that’s where we went, and the clue was: wherever you get your room keys. We thought it was the front desk, so we went there to find our prizes. Then we saw there was a basket with a bunch of cool prizes behind the front desk. I picked a 3-D zebra puzzle and my mom got a small crown for my sister.
After the hunt, my dad and sister came downstairs, and we all went to the city tour. There was a person that showed us all around the city! She even told us a story about a church, and she said that there was a person that goes to a lot of churches with her family, but she always sits at the top deck, away from everyone else except at this one because she thought there was ghost up there, but she never told her family for some reason. After the tour, we went back to the hotel, and into the game room. After a while of playing foosball and table tennis, we went back to our room and watched some TV. Soon I thought we should go to the pool, so me and my mom got changed. When we got to the pool my mom practiced some swimming with me, and I showed my mom some swimming skills too. After a while it was time for dinner, so we went back tour room. Then my dad got us some dinner, then we all ate and went to the bed.
DAY 4…
“Hey, wake up Rishabh” said mom “we are going to an aquarium today”. We all got ready and went down and checked out. Then we got in the car and went to a restaurant for some breakfast, then drove to the aquarium. Inside, we saw lots of cool fish and sea jellies. We even got to touch sea stars and sting rays. We even met a polar bear mascot which we took a picture with.
Then we went over to the area where the winter animals were. We saw polar bears walruses and even sea lions. Then we went to an amazing dark area filled with tanks with mega colored jellyfish.
Soon it was time to go, so we got in the car and started driving to the final hotel of the trip, but on the way, we passed a serious blizzard. Snow was flying everywhere and we could barely see a thing. Soon I fell asleep, but my dad kept driving.
THE FINAL DAY…
“Yay, it’s morning”. We all got ready and then we went down to get some breakfast. We found a nice restaurant that was close to the hotel. After the breakfast we checked out and started off for home. After a long time, we reached Bedford, Nova Scotia (where I live) and then got to home. Finally, after all this time we are back home. The trip to Quebec City was amazing but there is no place like home. 😊
